Care for the private and hidden sensual needs of a building's inhabitants was pivotal to Eileen Gray's architectural work. In response to this idea, my choreography translates parts of the building plan of Villa E.1027– the grid structure of the pilotis, the curves of the entrance screen and the building's spiral staircase - into danced movement, so that building and body are conflated.
